This may be our last time to freely vote in the best country in the history of the planet.

You are a long way from being the best country in the history of the planet. You have too many "sins" in your past. Try to accept that you are just another country-no better and no worse than many other countries on the planet. You will be voting freely for many generations to come, because of those who guard freedom, who outnumber massively those who would take your freedom.

Bad dream, then you woke up?

A big part of what got us to this point is that too many people are allowed to vote. There are people who spend each and every day, 24/7/365, looking for something to steal so they can pawn it for money to get heroin to shoot in their arms. And they are allowed to vote. There are people 30 years old, and older, who have never read a book, pamphlet, magazine poster, sign, or anything else in their entire lives, because they can't read. And they are allowed to vote. Is somebody who can't read able to understand economics and geopolitics well enough to make an informed choice regarding our leaders? How about winos? Schizophrenics who talk to lampposts? People with Down's Syndrome?

how about those that pay zero tax and live in Mommy's basement?

Ah, yes, the 18 y/o vote! What a great idea! Policy decided by self-absorbed, pubescent hormone wads. Why didn't I think of that?

if one does not pay into the purse one does not get to decide how the dough is spent. no tax payment no vote. We would cure all the maladies in one voting cycle.

The Democrats, of course, would never allow something so sensible.

A slippery slope. Who decides? Careful-you are talking about Lady Liberty.

hmm what if the various deductions and credits give you a refund greater than the amount you paid in, does that mean you lose your vote too?

There are some very serious issues at stake in this year's election -- so many that some people may not be able to see the forest for the trees. Individual issues are the trees, but the forest is the future of America as we have known it.

The America that has flourished for more than two centuries is being quietly but steadily dismantled by the Obama administration, during the process of dealing with particular issues.

For example, the merits or demerits of President Obama's recent executive order, suspending legal liability for young people who are...
