“There has always been a legal defense for using deadly force if — and the ‘if’ is important — no safe retreat is available. But we must examine laws that take this further by eliminating the common-sense and age-old requirement that people who feel threatened have a duty to retreat, outside their home, if they can do so safely.”---Eric Holder I believe he intends this to mean that George Zimmerman should have retreated. But, why doesn't it apply to Trayvon Martin as well? Why didn't he go home?
Marco Rubio is a fool for negotiating with people who have no compunction against misleading or "lying." He is a fool for thinking that Hispanic Americans, those who are legal and allowed to cast a legal ballot, are for amnesty. And no matter what Rubio, or McCain or Ryan says, this is amnesty! He is a fool who is publicly demonstrating is inadequacy to be President of this great nation. He thinks he can negotiate with the devil. He reminds me of the character in Die Hard, Harry Ellis, who is cocky enough to think he can deal with the enemy. He ends up getting killed.
Boy, just once, I wish Michelle Malkin would tell us what she really thinks (sarc)!

It's 'I Told You So' on Obamacare

"A similar discussion about how we got stuck in the Obamacare quagmire seems long overdue." I won't be holding my breath. I think that "documentaries" about ex-VP Cheney will continue to draw more media attention.
"The GOP, the party trying to put sensible limits on Obama's runaway spending,..."- This is why Republicans continue to lose. Everyone knows Congress has the authority to appropriate money, NOT the President. They may have convinced their base that the President is responsible for run-away spending, but Congress controls the purse strings. "If everyone is responsible,m then no one is responsible"
The minute you bring up States rights, you're labelled a racist...see Rand Paul.
Boehner and the Republicans are destined to lose on this. If they negotiate just one item, it will be listed as the primary cause of the coming recession. Anything they get will be held against them. What they should do is allow Obama's plan to come up for a vote and let it pass. Vote either "present" or abstain, but don't vote against it. Anyone voting against Obama's plan will be deemed as voting against America. Pass Obama's plan so America can see how well it does or does not work. Only then will Republican/ conservatives be able to live to fight another day.
Obama's motivation is the transformation of America into a socialist democracy, a la western Europe. That's his goal. Nothing else matters. He wants his legacy to be that transformation, not an economic recovery. He could care less if we go off the fiscal cliff. A prerequisite to that transformation is the destruction of political opposition and the neutering of conservatives for generations to come. That's where this episode fits into his plans. While Republicans are twittering about trying to convince America their ideas are right (an argument they just lost last month!), Obama's setting the trap to make them the scapegoats for the fiscal cliff and ensuing economic recession. All he has to do is sit back and blame Congress...

They shouldn't even negotiate. Anything they get out of negotiations will be held against them and held out to the media as the reason the policies didn't work. They should just let Obama and the Dems run it. Pass whatever they like. Let America see what happens. That is the only way they will ever convince America that progressive policies don't work.

Republicans must realize that all of this is designed for one purpose. And it's NOT to keep America from going over the fiscal cliff. Obama isn't afraid of going off the fiscal cliff. The purpose is not to cut the deficit or to help the American economy. This entire episode is designed to make Republicans look bad. Period. They (Republican) need to walk away, not obstruct anything and let the Democrats pass whatever they like. They don't have to vote for it. They can vote "present." They certainly can't vote against anything or they will be portrayed as voting against America. If they do that, they will be crucified at the ballot box for the foreseeable future. They shouldn't even negotiate. Anything they get out of negotiations will be h
