How is it possible for such a small, but loud, portion of the population now making a great change in the standards and beliefs of the majority? When did it become possible for those of us who have lived by the same customs, or standards, that have been embraced by nearly every civilation studied in the past, now become bigots, haters and demons? How did they turn the tables and where is their ultimate goal? Just legalizing same sex marriage is just the appetizer and they are getting ready for the main dish. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is the end of their demands, it is just the beginning!

That's what we do in this country that distinguishes us from a lot of other democratic countries -- we protect our minorities from the tyranny of the majority..

But since you brought it up, you're a bit behind the times if you think it's only a small minority -- or only gays themselves -- who want marriage equality in this country. The MAJORITY of Americans now favors same-sex marriage. The tide turned in 2011, according to a ABC News-Washington Post poll. -- not some rinkydink poll by a so-called "family" organization but by a respected and impartial polling organization. They found 53 percent in favor of same=sex marriage.

No one can understand your statement, david. You (incorrectly) state that tyrannies are composed of majorities, when tyrannies are, by definition, extreme minorities imposing their will on an unwilling majority.

And then, in your next breath, you claim (also incorrectly) that the majority favors same-sex "marriage." So, which is it? A tyranny of the majority of same-sex "marriage" supporters, imposing their will on a minority of traditional marriage defenders (the true tyranny), or a "tyranny" of a traditional marriage supporting majority?

Gee Pat, because the size of gays doesn't take away from their rights. See, Jews are about the same percentage of the population as gays but we don't say Jews don't have the same rights to marry the person they love, because of their size. The argument from tradition is aburd. Tradition was a king ruling by divine right over serfs with no free elections or speech, with priests and clerics approving. That was what was traditional.

Jerome41, should government eliminate the Jesus stuff from Christmas celebrations so the 2% Jewish kids aren't left out?

Marriage isn't a right. It is one of the 7 sacraments. And since God does not approve of homosexuality they can't marry. It's really very simple.

The very small subculture of homosexuality isn't alone in pushing this agenda on us. The Leftists and their moocher parasite hoards compose a much larger bloc of unified voters. Even Leftists understand that homosexuality is deplorable; that is why they choose it as the most disgusting bludgeon to use against a Christian-rooted society. It is the horse's head under the covers of Christian America.

The current controversy concerning marriage may be one of the biggest distractions in this election season. It is often categorized as a divisive “social issue.” Many Americans realize that the definition of marriage, the controversy about abortion, and America’s support of Israel are huge spiritual and moral issues which will determine the kind of America we will create for the generations that follow us.

Same-sex marriage advocates love to talk about the freedom to love and their own interpretation of “rights.” The truth is that none of us need a...
