Going over the cliff puts virtually everyone and every economic category on the hook to pay for government excesses. That's a very good thing. Its a uniter of the people. What are Republicans running from? They're acring like the corporate managements that only look to the next quarter's results. They're worried avout the stock market and the economy in 2013. We'll that's allfine and dandy. But what about the fiscal calamity that is their chief responsibility? They are trying to kick the can. Just go over. Let all taxpayers feel the pain of big government. Let big govern, ent feel the pain of shrinking like the rest of us have had to do the last ten years.

UPDATE: Senator Harry Reid appeared on the floor of the Senate this evening announcing that there would be no vote tonight. He said that they will reconvene Monday morning at 11am. “There’s still significant distance between the two sides, but negotiations continue,” Reid said. “There’s still time left to reach an agreement, and we intend to continue negotiations.” With only one day left of the year, it is looking like a very slim chance the two sides can come together to reach a fiscal cliff deal.

UPDATE: Republicans have taken the CPI off the table in an effort to help negotiations....
