Daddy used to have a saying; children should bee seen, not heard. I apply it to Democrat politicians who seem to mimic spoiled, demanding children.

Having Liebau and Johnson doing this critical work is like a sick man finding a good doctor. Priceless.

An add on. That forum thread at Volokh has case precedent listed, linked and discussed to back their conclusions.

Pleading the Fifth to Save Obama

Over at Volokh, com, aka the Volokh Conspiracy there is a lawyerly discussion of her 5A claim. It seems the vote is that Issa is right, she waived the right by her testimonial acts. It's not a slam dunk but the general agreement over there by the law guys seems to think she waived. She'll face jail if she tried to invoke it on the stand. We'll see.
If she pleads the fifth a good prosecutor should be able to see the target she put on her back with open sights from two miles. Let her.

Restoring Freedom, Saving the Republic

Many great ideas distilled to their essence; easy to comprehend. But only one lesson given on the first page and glossed over. How has freedom been defended when the only real threat to it, government is also the only way out? War. You said so yourself, Bob Beauprez. We are so divided that taking time to convince a significant part of half the people that they're wrong and what they can do about it is a bit more than mere polity can accomplish. This, in the face of a government that has assumed real powers it shouldn't have and will not give up. The what is overdiscussed. The how is never discussed, seriously. It is as if we want to believe that we can continue to do politics as we've done the last 50 years and get a different outcome.
Fiat proponents have this one fear about gold which is poorly explained by the proponents of gold. The fear is made up of more than one element. What if there is not enough gold? How do economies expand with a relatively fixed supply? The answer, I believe, as I have been taught, is that prices decline. This is either unrecognized or misunderstood. Somebody has to get to the root of these fears which I believe I have framed well enough to be be discussed and answered. How does a paradigm of fallling prices in an expanding economy differ from the one we have of inflation induced rising prices?
This administration is like a dropped bottle in a dark room. Mark turns on the light to let us see the whole mess at once. Now it is up to us to sweep up the mess and throw it out.
There needs to be a vigorous application of an old timey piece of jurisprudence; ignorance is no excuse. It would seem a metaphysical impossibility for the agency charged with enforcing the law to not know a. the law and b. when it was violating it. In addition, the ripe as 30 day underwear excuse of plausible deniability employoed amongst the highest echelons needs to be ripped away from them. This is nothing more than a license for underlings to run rogue at the merest whisper of poltiical dog whistles. What needs to be pressed is the old Trumanesk "The Buck Stops Here" on Obama and Holder and that woman running Obamacare. The Republic would enjoy future administrations that had to run a very tight ship.
Rubio got totally played by Schumer. Schumer got his bill and wrecked Rubio's presidential chances in record time. The kid's too full of himself.
