Simply put, we've spent $6 Trillion with no results. Once we raise taxes on job creators, the upper-end ones will move businesses overseas to compete globally, while the lower-end ones (small businesses) will cut staff or go out of business. That's not "overreacting"--it's simple economics. You can't cut into the small margins on which small businesses operate, and you can't keep insulting large business owners when other nations are aggressively courting them. It is what it is.
