Ress, it won't matter as sound policy, of course. But this time WILL MATTER because they already got the tax hike on the wealthy that they claimed would fix everything. They got the very thing on which they won an election, so for them to jack up more taxes immediately afterward just won't sell--and it gives us fabulous ad possibilities. Basically, we show how they got what they promised would fix things, then immediately demanded more. EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED NOW THAT THE DEMS GOT THAT HIKE ON THE WEALTHY, AND FORCING A BUDGET OUT OF THEM AT THIS POINT IS PURE GOLD. Trust me on this, Ress. NO ONE--AND I MEAN NO ONE--HATES THE DEMS MORE THAN ME. But as a former Marxist POS, I know what they hope we won't do strategically.

Despite talking for months about using the debt ceiling as leverage to get Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass a budget, spending cuts and entitlement reform, House Republicans are expected to vote on a temporary debt ceiling increase tomorrow.

House leaders on Monday unveiled legislation to permit the government to continue borrowing money through May 18 in order to stave off a first-ever default on U.S. obligations. It is slated for a vote on Wednesday.
