A Republican Party plank says 'young people can opt out of social security and have their own private account.' The other half of the sales pitch says 'and anyone retired or nearing retirement will not miss one single penny that is owed them and ....no one will see their taxes go up either.' Allowing young people to opt out of social security means there is less money to pay retired people. Young people with private accounts will not be retiring for 40 years. In that ENTIRE meantime, the shortfall of money needed to pay seniors benefits is even MORE. Allowing young people to opt out exacerbates the looming social security shortfall. It doesn't alleviate squat! It's just another feel-good Republican measure.

About Those Self-Evident Truths

Here's some tidbits from the latest spam from our beloved and so-called "Libertarian Tea Party princess." "Ron Paul and the Neoliberal Reeducation Campaign" and "the Hypocrisy of Ron Paul" So Tea Party princess, just who is your Neo-con Republican presidential candidate that wants to social engineer throughout the world and use American taxpayer's dollars to re-build foreign countries?
Here's what I say, "Replacing military pensions with 401k plans allows military personnel to put in thousands of dollars within a decade's time and reap a harvest of a millions dollars after that decade is up!" You either love the free markets and small government or you do not. Republicans do NOT. Again, Republicans behave like the Nazis in Osweicim, Poland (Auschwitz). The Nazi said it is a shower and it's for your own good. But can you really believe them?
Let me tell a story about George W. Bush's motto of 'Let's go shopping!' as a battle cry to motivate Americans in the war against the Islamo-Fascists here in the 21st century. I asked a Tea Party guy if he thought Bush's 'Let's go Shopping' motto reminded him of the WWII battle cry 'Remember Pearl Harbor!' He said, "Why yes, my wife has forced me to go shopping in large malls many times. We walked and walked and walked and walked. My feet and back ached so bad! One time, if felt like the 'Bataan Death March.' I asked incredulously, "Really?" He said, "Well, yes, until I saw the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream shop and we went in and ordered an extra large banana split for two."
Any of this sound familiar. Adolf Hitler instructed members of the Nazi party to talk like this about their enemies. Who were the enemies of the Nazi party our dear readers my be pondering?
Proof positive the modern day Republican party is like the Nazi party. Look at how the Republicans use language and have a love for rhetorical excess. In 1996, Gingrich, with the help of political consultant/pollster Frank Luntz, issued a memo to Republican candidates through the GOP political action committee offering tips on how to "speak like Newt." The memo offered some of Gingrich's favorite words and phrases to describe opponents: "radical," "bizarre," "sick," "pathetic," "corrupt," "cheat," and "anti" — as in anti-flag, anti-family, anti-child or anti-jobs.

A card-carrying Republican says, "What if I prefer the Founders ideal of self reliance & believe everyone should be self reliant?" Hmmmmm....is this Republican talking about the bank bailouts, the insurance comany bailouts, the ethanol mandates, the Wall Street bailouts, the auto bailout, the airline bailout, the Big Pharma handout, agricultural subsidies, pork barrel spending and the Republican party's 'Faith-Based Initiatives,' to name just a few of the Republican wealth redistribution schemes. Are these card-carrying Republicans talking about self-reliance for the poor but ENDLESS HANDOUTS for corporations with political connections and contributions to the Republcian party?
