Yes and no. You two are not quite talking about the same thing. Getting into specialized programs requires an level of proficiency before you even enter the service, as measured through the ASVAB and physical tests. While you can earn an associate's through PACE courses and distance learning, many of the programs are not free. The prices are reduced, but many are set up to utilize MGIB; that same MGIB is much more effective used after the servicemember's EAOS at a standard 4-year program. many of those degrees available are for lower-paying careers like law enforcement, social work, etc.

We have a few minorities in the program. and they've dropped the bar somewhat already, using preprinted notes and power point instead of taking notes by hand. Loss rates have dropped below 30% for the first time. You can expect Nukes to fight harder than any SEAL over lowering their standards--they still live in the shadow of Rickover.

the excuse that she was working to call in the kid's GRANDPARENTS. I've seen big ol' cornfed boys of both colors all but run in terror of a little old lady who'd snag 'em by the ear to "escort" them out--and if it was grampa who came to get 'em, he often had a strap hanging out of his back pocket to use it once they got off school grounds.

predominately white schools are having similar problems, especially in the cities. The more rural a school is, the less problems they seem to have. Maybe the base problem can be traced back to the breakdown of the family unit. I came through school in the 80's and 90's--and you could tell the difference between kids who came from divorced families and those who did not. You could also tell who came from progressive, relaxed discipline households and those who did not. I remember in HS, we had a black principal. he knew all 800 of us by name, face, and he knew who our family were--black or white. And often times if he had a poor opinion of a troublemaker's parents (usually a single welfare mother who had a live-in boyfriend) he'd use
the logic being that Ron Paul is the only candidate out of either party that does not favor the usurpation of the Constitution in some way, shape, or fashion--every other candidate has violated the Constitution or expressed a desire to do so. so expressing a desire to place Ron Paul in as SecTreasury advocates one of the others in the position of POTUS--an act which will lead to further violations of the Constitution.
Let's see: he does not want to legalize drugs--he wants to let the states decide how they are regulated in accordance with the 10th amendment--just like they do with alcohol already. Same with abortion. He hates the practice, and finds it abhorrent, but recognizes that the Federal government has limits--and breaking those limits for ANY reason is wrong. he does not want to shrink the military he wants to bring them home. That's the difference between "defense spending" and "war spending." Congratulations on getting all your info from Fox and the mainstream media.

It's rare to hear the truth put together so well. Thanks.
