Tort Reform: Remedy or Red Herring?

The system needs reform not dismantling.

Remeember the McDonald's case in Albuquerque. The plantiff got a large settlement because she didn't realize that a syrofoam cup of hot coffee can be crushed between your knees if squeezed.
The cost of defending frivilous lawsuits runs up everyone's costs, to include your car insurance, health insurance, your resturant costs (you don't think they will "eat" the increased insurance premiums, do you?)

Read the article

MA has near UHS and their ER visits are going up. I assume reporters and medical personnel are educated.

Watching Obama, it seems as if he is in campaign mode 24-7, running for re-election rather than running the White House.

Your "truther" questions have been answered by experts but "you can't handle the truth."
Obama seems to be very good at pandering to his special interests. I fear that eventually there will be another terrorist act and the fault will be the absence of concern domestically by this administration

Are you sure there is nothing worth fighting for.

Consider John Stuart Mill on War.

The mask also slipped on the community organizer in chief when he made his "acted stupidly" comment.
Would those who so adamantly oppose LWOP or the death penalty be willing to have that prisoner live next door or down the street from them?

I am cynical enough to say I doubt it. (NIMBY)

Is Obama working on a fourth reich, using the czars to rule, since they are not vetted by congress and answer only to him?
Even Robert Byrd (D) sees problems with this.

MEChA blames the "white invaders" for taking their land. The blame is misplaced. If they studied history instaed of distorting it, they would blame people like Antonio Lopez de la Santa Anna.
He invited Anglos to settle in what became Texas because he could not control the area with his troops. They were content to settle until he raised taxes and reused to provide protection for the settlers.
In the eventual war, he lost the territory, much like another tyrant, King George.
