A Racial Revolution?

The US has roughly doubled in population in the last 50 years, largely due to unchecked immigration. (The birthrate of native Americans has been at basically replacement levels). The last figure I heard was 320 million. If there is no change in immigration policy, we will have a billion people before the end of this century. Does anyone think that the US will be a better country with a billion people? Due to the paralysis of our elected leaders, who cannot think beyond the next election, this issue of unmanageable population is never addressed. Why can't the people living here realize that their grandchildren will be living in a hellhole if nothing is done about immigration?

It's not quantity. It's quality.

They are LIBerals. It's all about them feeling good about themselves in the here and now. They always demagogue the opposite...that what they do is "for the children"...for "future generations", etc.... No, what they do is for them. Right now. Future generations be damned. They'll have to worry about the $20, $30 or $50 trillion in debt that we've run up when their time comes. For now, LIBs want, want, want... and want more. And they are happy as pigs in mud to spend like drunken LIBs on our national credit card.

Hate to burst your bubble, David157, but what I was getting at in my post is not really a left-right or racial issue. For example, when the Repubs, under GWB, had total control of both Houses for his first 6 years, they did NOTHING to address immigration. In fact, many short-sighted conservatives support large immigration for the cheap labor. My point is that our policy makers fail to look far enough into the future to envision what this country will become in the near future due to excess immigration. Of course, the US will implode and become unliveable well before we reach a billion people.

Now that census data show -- for the first time in American history -- the number of white babies born exceeded by the number of babies born to non-white minorities the question is: What does this mean for the future of American society?

Politically, it means that minorities who traditionally vote overwhelmingly for Democrats can ensure that the country veers ever further to the left over the years, making America more like the welfare states of Europe, whose unsustainable spending led ultimately to financial crises and widespread riots.

But this is not strictly a matter of whites versus non-whites....
