At age 62, Social Security Disability Insurance converts to regular Social Security- the amounts remain the same because they are both calculated on highest quarter of income. At least this was so a few years ago. SSI (Supplemental Security Insurance) is state run, and that's where the checks for drunk and crazy money comes from. You are not supposed to be able to qualify for both at the same time.
