Wait a minute, so the theory of evolution isn't a theory?

YAWN !!
Let me know when they FIND that "common ancestor" Roy. I believe a species HAS evolved within its OWN species; PLENTY of evidence of that; BUT NOT that that sea slug "evolved"
into a Saber Tooth or Mastodon.

904;
A lot of spewing proves NOTHING except that you are desperate.

No, BUT you prove you have no mind.

Nope, just indicates that the process of creation was a lot more complicated than originally thought!

PS, I find the Gould-Eldrige theory of punctuated equilibrium more convincing than Darwin's gradualism for most cases.

To believe in a theory is inherently unscientific. Belief is faith, not skeptical analysis of the available evidence.

Once you say that you believe in evolution you cross from the realm of science into the realm of religion.

If you believe that the Theory of Evolution is factual, and the evidence in hard to deny, then you would be a raving Conservative.
I think it was in the 4th Century AD, that Tacitus said 'When you subsidize indolence and poverty, you get more of both'. Evolution at work, obviously.
Why LBJ's war on poverty, and Obama's actual policies are resulting in more and more dependency and poverty.

It's a theory the way the Theory of Gravity is a theory. It's called a "theory" because there's no way to put it in a laboratory and do an experiment that "proves" it, so scientists can't properly call it a "conclusion" or "proof". It's a theory with overwhelming evidence, especially now that we can do DNA studies on fossils.

How about remembering when scientists gave glory to God and were not frantically bent on a faith that naturalism has to explain all.

And yet, in the geologic record we DO see the pace of new species appearances increasing, from fish to lizards to mammals to hominids. It should have hit a brick wall or slowed way down as complexity and size and time to sexual maturity went up and number of progeny went down... it doesn't. It does the opposite.
ReddestNeck Wrote: Apr 28, 2013 4:23 AM
... Basically, the big bang, did its banging about 15 billion years ago, by the old earth, old universe time table that few modern scientists doubt. You're asking life to scramble up from the mire, from literal scratch, in that time, while every modern observation is that it's a whole lot easier for any life form on its own to go extinct than to produce a superior sport. Won't work from the mire to a cell, and won't work once you get past something the size of the insects.

When huge gaps are pointed out, such as no process that we know about being able to actually power the "arrival of the fittest" (so that they can then survive) they just go la la la we can't hear you. The sophistry that evolutionists have to go through to make this stuff look like it works would be funny if it weren't so sad. Incidentally, special creation is not exclusively tied to young earth explanations. Agree or not with Hugh Ross, his www.reasons.org shows why old earth explanations don't help evolution either.

But the fact that you and your fellow Christophobes have NO evidence that Darwins theory is true, but push it as fact, makes you what?

Dag, you just provided further proof that you progs are nothing but arrogance and stupidity.

You were doing just fine until that sentence. Science isn't about truth. It's about the best possible scientific explanation for phenomena at the time. The theory of evolution is the best one we have going. But to say that someone who does NOT believe in the theory is a moron makes you a moron yourself. No one who understands the scientific process should ever "believe" in any theory. Belief is the subject of religion. That's not to say that many scientists do not believe in various theories. Unfortunately, for many scientists, science IS their religion.

Nabbit:

Darwin had NO, understanding of cellular or biology at the molecular level. His theory of evolution is a failed theory and science has completely falsified it.

NO evidence exists to suggest it is anything more than a 19th century anachronism now relegated to the same bin as the flat earth society.

It does however have die hard believers like you.
DagNabbit Wrote: Apr 28, 2013 1:20 AM
As the Theory of Relativity is just a theory. That just means it can't be proved, simply because we don't physically have the means to prove it. But the bottom line is, if you don't believe the Theory of evolution is correct, you're a moron.

Science is not, in and of itself, a leftwing plot. For that to be true scientists would have to be cool people, not the mathematically-gifted, socially awkward wallflowers who never really had friends- or dates- in high school.

Elbert Einstein was the greatest theoretical physicist ever. He had rather childish views about money, economics and politics however.
