Can It Happen Here?

Sowell is only half right on the Cypriot bailout facts. Yes, their government voted on a bill that would confiscate the depositors of their banks. However, this was scheme was a part of the ECB/IMF requirements for the bailout. In other words, the ECB/IMF is taking the money of the Cypriots, Russians, and anyone else who put money into a Cypriot bank account. As far as it happening here, I think it could. The Federal Reserve System is a group of privately run banks who loan money to the government. Even though the chairmen are selected by the president, they all work for private banks that both American and foreign. If the government ever got in a positon of not paying its debts, the banksters of America could do the same thing to us.

Of course she got paid. She's a columnist and columnists get paid to write articles, whether by a specific media company who tells them what subject to write about or if they're independent they write an article and sell it to whichever media companies will buy it or they're contracted with to sell their articles to. This is what some would call a "free market" way of writing commentaries and reporting news not seen in the dictatorships of socialist/communist countries and banana republics across the world where reporters are told by the government what to report and say or not say.
