I don't believe the issue is rich or poor (subjective terms). The issue is somebody else or me (personal terms). Even if you don't support soaking the rich, you probably aren't all that involved as long as you don't identify yourself as one of the rich. Why should you take responsibility for your life if you can blame somebody else. All our problems have been caused by somebody else...just ask any politician. That somebody else needs to pony up and fix things.

This is false on the face of it. Many people who would be affected by raised tax rates on the wealthy are in support of that idea.
