How Can I Help, Mr. President?

I believe that parents of the students that Obama is trying to indoctrinate with his doctrines should not only withhold their children from school on that day, but should also indoctrinate the children based on the parents' values not to accept or sign any statement leading up to the date Obama is to speak. I don't think the schools have any right to insist that minors complete the questionnaires and sign them without a parent's permission. I no longer have children in school, but I know I would resist such "persuasion" on my children. Many children have not yet developed the kind of foundation that will allow them to stand for something, so they can fall for anything.
Parents of children in public schools should have begun to tell THEIR schools that they will not permit this childhood indoctrination. They should tell the students not to sign anything presented to them. They should insist on seeing the material that is to be used. You have a few days before the scheduled speech by the President to take such action. No child should be forced to sign such a letter without a parent's permission and that permission should not be given until the parent has seen the material and the child's reply to it. Since children mature at different speeds, many of them may not have the maturity to discern. After discussions with school principals, school boards, teachers, members of the PTA and any other such...

I have a couple of points as follows:

1. Back in the days when SS was adding disability benefits, reduced benefits at age 62 and other benefits to the programs, ground level emplyees were asked to complete a survey with their opinion about allowing children's benefits to continue past age 18 as long as they were enrolled in college. Many of these employees warned about the dangers inherent in "cradle to the grave" benefits. The program began anyway, but lasted only a short time and was discontinued, one of the few times that Congress repealed a progam it had voted to initiate.

2. If the government would replace the worthless IOU'S that have replaced the money taken out of the Social Security Trust Fund and put into the...

It has been said that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."
Our non-president is one who can talk the talk, but I see not one thing that tells me he walks the walk. The last 3 recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize, as well as Obama, have, in my opinion, tarnished forever this award. I wonder what charity he will donate the money to ...... ACORN??????

Obamanomics Supporters - Cracks in the Dike

So Colin begins to see the error of his ways - took him awhile.

Looks like Warren Buffet is also doing some after-supporting, Obama thinking.

And then there is Obama supporter, George Soros, billionaire, now sees that when you spend, borrow, then spend and borrow some more, it means more deep debt and higher interest rates. Added to that is the fact that taxes must be raised to support repayment of the debt and that leaves less in the pocket book of the individual. Buying goes down and inflation comes up and stops economic recovery. To my way of thinking, if you spend more than your income, more debt is bound to follow. Round and round the vinegar jug and POP goes the economy.

Write Congress Representative for your state or any other, for that matter, and urge them not to vote for this bill. Even if they are allowed this little bit of time to read the bill, the Democrats can sneak something else into the bill as late as the night before the vote. This bill should not pass.

How's the stimulus working for you so far?

Life has taught me:
1. It is not good that expenses should exceed income. Not only have individuals been overspending for years, but so has our government, most of it wasteful spending;
2. About the power hungry - what will they do when government has destroyed all the businesses that provide the employment opportunities? Even old well-known businesses that have been around as many years as my age are closing. It tears me up to hear that they have.
3. Not to make large decisions without a lot of time to consider with prayer;
4. United we stand.

While I know that running a large country is a large responsibility, vastly different in some waysfrom running a business or a family, I believe the application of these...

Good parenting begins long before a child is 15. As a parent, we don't just talk morals and values - we LIVE them. My daughter once wanted to wear a T shirt to school that had a suggestive message on it. I said, "No" and she got rid of the shirt. End of story. Little girls grow up too quickly these days. They are showing a lot of skin in what they wear to school and/or church or anywhere else. Maybe Billy Ray Cyrus lost control or perhaps he is unable to see the effect that nakedness and suggestiveness in his daughter's performances will have on her and on her future. Some oil wells produce much oil and royalties in their first three months, then sometimes trail away. That could happen to the career of this fifteen-year-old who...

I have never had a man slam the door in my face yet - not once - they always open doors for me.
Actually, I had the best of both worlds, I guess. I am the widow of a man who gave 26 years of his life to serve his country. So he was away a lot when our 3 children were growing up and guess who cared for them and worked outside the home too. Since back in those days, he made about $145 a month so work for me was necessary. I believe in respect for the people I meet and I think as a result, I receive respect. I also respect other opinions that don't necessarily agree with mine. Later in my life, after my first family was grown, working, being good citizens, I adopted 2 more children who now are grown and doing well. I have 13...
