Mitt Romney will be 65 years young in 2012. The largest voting block will be us Baby Boomers. He is our candidate!

What is equally offensive is Congress using money to dictate behavior where they have no Constitutional authority to do so. If they don't like the way something is being run, they shouldn't fund it.
I am most disappointed in our President's refusal to comment on the wisdom of building the mosque next to ground-zero. If he can't comment on the wisdom, speak for the American people horrified by the attack, like President Bush did on top of the firetruck at ground-zero, than who can?
How can the argument that taxing sun tanning booths is okay based on the health benefits be valid in light of Lawrence v. Texas or Roe v. Wade?

How did this failure of the blow-out preventer and sinking of the platform happen? Remember the four Navy S.E.A.L.s that were recently put on trail for punching the terrorists that burned the American bodies in Iraq? They were all acquitted, but why? What do S.E.A.L.s do? One of the first things they did was to blow-up things underwater, hmm...wonder why the 9/11 Truthers haven't picked up on this yet.

Charles left out the disaster brewing in Latin America. Obama is trying to put back in power a Communist dictator who was constitutionally removed from office. What message does that send to our friends and enemies in Latin America?
Excellent article, but two corrections are needed. First, Bush didn't spend all that money, it was Pelosi who wrote and passed the budget. Second, of the 46 million uninsured, about 20 million can afford insurance, but opt-out. Under the House bill, these individual will have to either pay into the insurance pool or pay the IRS 2.5% of their income. In otherwords, under Pelosi's plan about half the uninsured will be contributing to healthcare for all.
A couple of things could be done to reduce the focus on short-termism. First, the tax code could be changed to tax in-the-money stock options as an immediate ordinary income tax event, but treat out-of-the-money stock options as long-term capital gains. This would reward sustainable growth in a companies stock value. Second, they should limit "guidance" to once a quarter and that should be at quarter-end when a company announces their quarterly results. The investment world has turned annually returns to 4-times-a-year events. That has contributed greatly to short-termism.
There are several types of intelligence. Obama may have what I call academic or "book" intelligence. However, when I hear him talk about the Constitution, I doubt if he was a "successful" Constitutional scholar. He is not intelligent about many things that are important to being POTUS. For example, he has repeatedly showed his lack of knowledge about business and economics. But most importantly, by trying to be the first post-America President, he has demonstrated his lack of knowledge about American Exceptionalism. I do think we should continue to show his lack of knowledge and experience in hope so making him a one-term President.
All this goes to show why we urgently need to repeal the 17th Amendment. Please spread the word to the Radio and TV commentators as well as the Tea Party. This would be an historical mark for them to make for America.
