Ridiculous...Bush's dressup date on the air carrier was absolutely unnecessary as anything other than a PR stunt.
Name one Georgetwin.
Georgetwin the administration themselves admitted that the carrier was well within copter range. There was NO reason for Bush to make the appearance that he did other than to bathe himself in the reflected glory of the troops.
DG...time for you to answer a simple question instead of making it about me. What reason did Bush have for not going in on a copter in civilian dress if not to make himself the center of attention.
DG offer ONE reason why Bush couldn't helicopter in dressed in civilian gear.
DG...name one reason flew onto the carrier in a flight suit besides making it all about Bush?
Did the crew ask Bush to fly in on a jet or to pose for pictures wearing a flight suit?
White House spokesman Scott McClellan told CNN, "We took care of the production of it. We have people to do those things. But the Navy actually put it up."[8] According to John Dickerson of Time magazine, the White House later conceded that they actually hung the banner but still insists it had been done at the request of the crew members
From Ari Flescher Bush spokesman..."White House spokesman Ari Fleischer admitted that Bush "could have helicoptered, but the plan was already in place. Plus, he wanted to see a landing the way aviators see a landing."
The Bush White House initially claimed they took the jet because the carrier was too far off shore to be reached by helicopter, then had to admit it was only 30 miles, well within copter range.
