The republicans can start by defunding the 'energy' dept, health and inhumane services, education, labor, interior, homeland insecurity, ALL foreign aid, cut the state dept by 70%. That alone will save a few hundred billion WITHOUT harming seniors or the taxpayers. THAT would also allow for serious tax cuts for all TAXPAYERS, limit the size of government to a manageable level.....

At the Constitutional Convention in the summer of 1787, Alexander Hamilton of New York brought up the idea that there should perhaps be two presidents since the job was so large. The executive department is so large now that one person cannot oversee it all. Option A: Let the president appoint overseers to oversee the Cabinet overseers. Option B: Shrink the Executive Department and its myriad of bureaucracies to a simpler, more manageable level.

George Washington's first cabinet had four departments, State, Justice, Treasury, and War (defense). Today there are 17 cabinet level departments. They manage everything from high school curricular to saving spotted owls to sacrificing diplomats and other American citizens.

Look at Benghazi. No one seemed to know who did what--neither the President nor the Sec of State nor the Sec of Defense nor the CIA. If government is too large to be managed then it must be too big. It's time to break it apart like old AT&T.
