In response to:

Better Than Paul Ryan

Before anybody takes that facebook posting (and similary comments on this thread) seriously, be informed that it comes from certain elements who are on record as saying that the duty of (soi disant) libertarians and (alleged) paleo conservatives along with those who shout "Pauahu Akbar" is to torpedo Romney so Obama can collapse the country completely thereby opening the way to their (secularist) millenia. This is the Cloward-Piven-Rockwell-Raimondo strategy----if you want to call nihilism strategy. Be especially wary of those who claim that voting is useless because Romney-Ryan is all that we have. They are lying through their teeth in order to get YOU to self-destruct. Final Answer.

Actually, there IS a reason to take that facebook posting seriously: it happens to be true. The truth, as attorneys say, is a great defense.

The major parties give us a "choice" between socialism straight, and socialism on the rocks. Or, to put it more directly, socialism openly trumpeted, versus socialism covered with a thin veneer of free market rhetoric. Either way, you get socialism.

If you vote for either one of them, you have no right to complain: you endorsed the "choice" (ironic quotes intentional).

Maybe it was the smile that spread across my face, or the extra bit of jubilance with which I poured my cup of coffee, but whichever telltale mannerism alerted her, my daughter certainly noticed. Our telescreen had just announced that U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) had been chosen by Mitt Romney to run as his Vice Presidential running mate.

“Is he good?” she asked.

Frankly, the budget-hawk Wisconsin congressman was immediately apparent as the best of the major party four: Obama, Biden, Romney, Ryan. Not even close, to be sure.

Figuring my little sunbeam...
