My State of the Union Address

The idea is that you really tick off a group of voters which votes regularly. The real solution is an involved electorate, which we don't have. Look at the effect that provisional and absentee voting had on the last election. Still can't get out more than 20% of young voters. We "old fogies" run the country. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html Until you get the other age groups http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/election/voter-turnout-among-18-29-age-group-falls-below-2006-level-996921.html
How about Thomas Sowell? Ken Blackwell? There are numerous conservative, Republican black candidates out there. Is Lynn Swann available?
So, let them play the race card. I would hate to see Michael Steele go, because I believe he is an honest man, although not one with which I always agree. But to retain him, just because he is black, says that we need to retain Obama just because he says he his black. Don't agree that this should be anywhere in the determinant of who is the RNC chief. That being said, what we need to do is to have a more conservative RNC chief. I don't see a single conservative candidate named. Anybody else for Sarah Palin for RNC Chairman?

I disagree. Liberals are not the enemy; they are at worst a consistent bad example. I like the fact that Hugh has liberal friends. I remember the moan when Nixon was overwhelmingly re-elected that "I don't know anyone who voted for Nixon". THAT is what you propose, and is not how you get ideas.

Sherrod Brown? Mind? Are you sure you are thinking of SHERROD Brown when you use the word mind?

JMO51, why does the military votes overwhelmingly Republican if the middle-class kids aren't serving? Where is the military service of this generation of the Kennedys, the Rockefellers, and other Democrat and liberal bastions? And you call Republicans "chicken-hawks". By your definition, the whole Obama administration (with virtually no veterans serving in Cabinet or Czar positions) is unqualified to serve in the government. So either recalibrate your yarn, or close your yap.

Remember, this term it was 19 Republicans, and the Dems expected to pick up 6-8 seats to get over a 2/3 majority. So, just because 23 are up for hunting doesn't mean that we can pick them off. We need to field good candidates and give them good backing.

The Republicans had the deficit shrinking despite both Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, the 2% of GDP was considered by many economists to be minimal. The profligate spending of the Republicans only occurred after the 2008 election, where it was felt that they needed to "go along" with the newly-elected Dems. Remember, every pieced of outrageous spending from TARP (only half of which was authorized under Bush) to the huge budgets were voted for by Senators Obama and Clinton.

Because for liberals, there is no such thing as black and white in law, only shades of gray. Look at the three-time losers they keep wanting to let off because "he was abused as a child". The rule of law, the Constitution, anything else, all get trumped by the bleeding heart of the liberal. Look at the gymnastics that the four liberal justices go through on Supreme Court decisions.

Harry just won, remember? And San Fran Nan is safe as Queen for life. So dream on that they will ever be ousted. Sorry, these are facts.
