Could be, or too many Democrats stayed in their graves this year instead of coming out to vote as usual.
They tried, but too many Democrats stayed in their graves this year! without THOSE votes, it was a lost cause for them.
I have been advocating for the abolishment of the ATF since the Waco and Ruby Ridge incidents in the early 1980s. I have also been advocating for the abolishment of the Department of Education since the 1980s.
Obama and the Democrats learned a lot from Nixon, and added the knowledge of Saul Alinsky to their repertoire of dirty shenanigans.
My oldest brother was a lifelong Republican and passed away three years ago. He's been voting Democrat ever since. How can that be?
Oops! Specter has passed away. Sorry to mis-state him as currently a Democrat.
Mitch McConnell backed Charlie Crist against Marco Rubio. Mitch McConnell backed Trey Grayson against Rand Paul. Mitch McConnell backed Bob Bennett against Mike Lee. Mitch McConnell backed David Dewhurst against Ted Cruz. Mitch McConnell backed Arlen Specter against Pat Toomey. All of these whom McConnell supported are now Democrats, except Dewhurst, who is a fence sitter. We don't need turncoats in the GOP.

Carlas t, Maybe you don't remember that the liberal Democrats took control of the House and Senate in 2006. So from Jan 21, 2006 until January 21, 2012, Democrats controlled both legislative bodies and pretty much passed whatever they wanted. They stopped Bush at will and Bush went along with them when the crisis started. With completed control of both bodies and the presidency in 2009, they concentrated on expanding the bailouts by $4 trillion and passing Obamacare. Even now the Dems control the senate and are blocking every sane thing the GOP try to salvage.
