Frightening imagery.
"Many parts of the pine tree ARE edible." iprazhm, I happen to know many Mormons who ARE Christians. However, Mormonism is not a Christian religion.
AmyDB Wrote: "I think that you may have misconstrued my comments." Amy, you wrote, "If you want a theocracy then move to where one already exists." I don't want a theocracy, I never said I want a theocracy. I said you misconstrued my comment because you implied I want a theocracy. How did I misconstrue your comment?
I think you misunderstood my comment. You definitely misconstrued it. Of course, I addressed my comments to Christians and you're not one and that's ok.
"Thou shalt not murder. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness before the authorities." The federal government shouldn't legislate "morality of any kind?" Usually when people make that kind of statement they are talking about not legislating sexual morality, and I happen to agree. However, I find the Declaration, the Preamble, and the Bill of Rights to be chock full of morality, along with many of the Amendments. Judeo-Christian values worked for the founders.
If Christians had their act together, we wouldn't be talking about Obama's second term and we wouldn't have had Romney as a nominee. The reason the GOP has "a Christian problem" is because Christians have a Christian problem. Politically active evangelical Christians know more about the "gospel of conservatism" than they know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christians need to get back to the basics. "... the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, they will gather around them teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge the duties of your ministry."

Nice. AmyDB says, "bye," and you challenge her when she's not here to answer. Change your name to, "theoriginalcoward."
Most religious Obama voters are more committed to their political ideology than they are to their Christian faith. Most of them have been talked out of their belief in basic Christian doctrine, but they cannot be talked out of their loyalty to their political doctrine. It is folly to try to convert liberals to conservatism because liberalism is a religion and conservatism is not. If Christians want to see the politics of this country transformed, they need to strive to convert liberals to TRUE, Spirit-powered Christianity rather than trying to get liberals to change their political ideology.
Does it matter how she got that way? El, if you want some hope, Anne Heche was dating Ellen Degeneres and then found a good man to marry and to have his child. Maybe your daughter will also wind up on that path.
Good points. So why are gay activists insisting on using the courts to force this down our throats?
Prager pointed out six examples BESIDES the adoption example. He's also too restrained to point out that it's STUPID to try to redefine marriage (but as a commenter, I don't have to be as restrained). Marriage has had a specific definition given by Christ; a definition that will never change.
