Not correct. Four shots were fired toward Kennedy from a bolt action rifle. Two struck Kennedy. The first passed through his upper back and exited through his necktie knot (this is the one that then struck Connolly). The head shot was the next one which eviscerated his brain. Two other bullets missed and were later located half a mile away further down target. The 'miracle' bullet is the one that initially passed through Kennedy... and remained pristine due to not striking bone. This is the one, referenced above, that then struck Connolly.
In a shocking display of intimidation tactics, a New York newspaper took the time to gather every publicly-available address of every gun owner in the lower Hudson valley region and publish them publicly on its website. The Journal News published gun owners' home addresses in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties.

Understandably, people were outraged:
