PUT ARMED RETIRED MILITARY IN SCHOOLS IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR BENEFITS ... at $10 per hour. Ten per school... There are 135,000 public and private schools in America (97% are 'public). Hiring trained ex-military personnel to be stationed at strategic points in and around schools... especially the parking lots... would be an excellent thing to do. Make them 'earn' their benefits if not disabled due to service.

There are many who will soon be released from service who are not ready to retire, but will need a job. Those interested and qualified might be the solution until they find better jobs. Don't forget that Principals and V.P.'s could be trained and armed also.

Retired military members have already "earned" their benefits, but many would love to still serve in some way. This would be a perfect way.

Wow, sorry for the burst of three!

The face of gun violence is not Sandy Hook. It is Chicago.

In 2012, President Barack Obama's adopted hometown had 506 murders, including more than 60 children. Philadelphia, a city that local television newscasters frequently call 'Killadelphia," saw 331 killed last year. In Detroit, 386 people were murdered.

Since 1966, there have been 90 school shootings in the U.S., with 231 fatalities. Yes, Sandy Hook shocked us. But the odds of a child being killed at a school shooting are longer than the odds of being struck by lightning.

Of the 11,000 to 12,000 gun murders each...
