Correction - He served as a Republican House Rep from 1990 to 1992, not 1989 to 1993.
He was ELECTED and HELD OFFICE as a Republican. (But it was for approx. two years, not four as I had originally thought.)
It's true, the KKK was once primarily comprised of southern Democrats. That has changed. Former Grand Wizard David Duke (his ex-wife co-founded stormfront.org - the Internet's first major hate site) was a Louisiana House Representative from 1989 to 1993. He was a Democrat until 1988 (he couldn't win as a Democrat), but subsequently switched his party affiliation to the Republican Party and won his LA house seat. http://www.davidduke.com http://www.stormfront.org (the Internet's first major hate site) It's funny - most of the comments at stormfront.org sound like comments that could have been made at townhall.com - except they are generally much more polite and coherently-written.

You don't need a god to fuel a mass movement, but you sure as heck need a devil. Demonizing your enemies (the Democrats) by branding them as criminals is a small-minded, yet effective way to motivate people. Nothing else motivates anywhere near as well as anger and hatred.

To any conservative readers of this site: What do you think of the question posted above? (about the possibility that Fast & Furious was just merely "a dress rehearsal for a much larger gunrunning operation to al Qaida-linked and other Jihadist groups in Libya and, more ominously, Syria?") Do you find it utterly absurd? Or do you think it warrants serious consideration?
I have to admit it - This was a reasonable article, and it was especially refreshing to read on a day like today. I wasn't expecting that. Regardless of this election's outcome, we're all going to have to work together in the next four years. More like this Mr. Norris! (And I'm a progressive far to the left of Obama.)
Well then I'm calling the race at...let me see...1:32AM EST. Obama: 309 Romney: 229
Sorry - Is IT too early for me to call it?
