Competency is way down the list of requirements to be hired by the feds. From what I have seen in this administration, it isn't considered at all. Take the VPOTUS for instance . . .

Even then, when they play the game, like Susan Rice, they seem to get thrown under the bus. But not always. Jarrett was put into being in charge of who attends White House functions, and messed up, so now she is just the closest personal adviser to Obama, with no official title, to my knowledge. But we do pay for SS protection where we could not pay them to keep the White House open. Gotta love it.
