Who says it is the responsibility of the federal government to be involved in education? Historically it has been the responsibility of the states and local school boards to determine education policy in their jurisdiction. Since the federal government has gotten its slimy fingers into education of our children the quality of that education has gone downhill due to fed regulations that must be followed in exchange for federal money. In effect states and school boards have sold their souls to the devil for a pot of porridge!
