I agree that FEMA is needed, and cannot believe Congress would ever dissolve it. Romney has, I suppose, backtracked on it. I must say, though, that Obama got a complete pass as he 'evolved' in his back and forth opinions and support for gay marriage. While Obama's words may go anyway the political wind blows, I do not think he departs one iota from the agenda of his parents, grandparents, Ayres, Van Jones, V. Jarrett, Alinsky, Frances Piven, the head of the American Communist Party or any other that encourage him in his ideology. Want to know a man? Check his friends.
Barack Obama faces not one but two perfect storms. He may actually be grateful for the meteorological one if it predictably helps obscure the political one at least for the next week.

Hurricane Sandy is, of course, a disaster no one would welcome. Untold numbers of Americans are having their lives endangered, or at least severely disrupted, and the potential economic harm is unimaginable at this point.

The president could nonetheless see a silver lining in this horrific "weather event." For one thing, he gets to posture as the leader of the nation in a terrible time of testing, the...
