Women Serving in Combat Positions Is a Batty Idea

I applaud the idea of women in combat, not because of any misguided idea of equality for women, but equality for men. Men have been treated as the disposable sex for far to long, it is time women share in this burden. Now, since women can serve in combat they should be required to register for the draft. Let the women and homosexuals fight the next war and let the men sit it out.

AbNORM...there IS NO DRAFT!! Phased out years ago. Where have you been...under a rock since 1973?

I believe you are missing Norm's point. All males when reaching the age of 18 are required by law to register for selective service. True, we do not currently have a draft; however, if the draft is ever enacted again, we have the pool of names to draw from. I'm with Norm. They want to serve, make them register.

When things get rough enough in the middle east and we are attacked, once again, on our own shores, the draft will come's just a matter of time.

Ending the draft hurt the country, contributed greatly to the entitlement class.

Last Thursday Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and other U.S. military leaders lifted the ban on women serving in combat positions. I, for one, think this is a great idea and have a few modest proposals, if the brass inside the beltway is open to suggestions, on how they should deploy the dames (and whom they should deploy).

First off, if you truly want to eviscerate the enemy—namely Muslims—then I propose sending the most nerve grating and foul women Hollywood has to offer straight into hot zones as our forward armies. I’m a thinkin’ starting off with Roseanne Barr, Joy...
