Absolutely LD. Even though I am 70 yrs old, that is why I am in favor of doctors asking me if I have a gun in the house. My god, what would happen if my 23 year old granddaughter comes to visit and she finds my gun and shoots herself, I could never live with myself.

1375, all of my kids and grand kids, and even my 4 and 5 year old great grand sons, have been taught about the safe use and storage of fire arms from the time they could say the word "gun". They have all been taught to shoot (except the 4 and 5 year old), and care for firearms, beginning around 10-12 years old, first with a B-B gun, then on to a .22. Nobody has ever shot another human being, or theirself. In the entire clan, consisting of over 400 folks, beginning with my grand parents, nobody has ever 'accidentally', or for nefarious purpose, ever shot another human. The only exception being in the military, or as law enforcement officers, we all have no blood on our hands.

If that were to happen Norm you should then shoot YOURSELF with the same gun that you are too stupid to have kept locked up or out of reach of your 23 year old! Why would a 23 year old shoot herself with your gun?

I like to bet on sports. Having a stake in the game, even if it's just five bucks, makes it more exciting. I also like playing poker. "Unacceptable!" say politicians in much of America. "Gambling sometimes leads to 'addiction,' destitute families!"

Well, it can.

So politicians ban it. It's why we no longer see a poker game in the back of bars. Half the states even ban poker between friends -- though they rarely enforce that.

After banning things, politicians' second favorite activity is granting special privileges to a few people who do those same things -- so big casinos flourish, and most...
