I'm uncertain of the relevance the configuration of colonial education has in this discussion. Contemporary examples of what? Colonial education systems or home schools? Also irrelevant, I think. What do I think about "the commons"? I think the artifice is used by Swinehart to make his silliness seem erudite. Glad to hear you have no problem with how I and increasing numbers of families have chosen to educate our children. Certainly, the quality of the teacher is important. That's why I hired my wife to do the job. More important is that we were able to shield our children from a number of things, not least of which is indoctrination by a system that permits idiocy such as that presented by this column.
Always nice to have our decision to homeschool our children confirmed. This guy sounds like a perfect example of oxygen thievery!
