God's Word gives us a position about life itself, including preborn life. One example is Psalm 139:13-16, a Psalm of David. (See verse 16, below.)

As Guy reported earlier, Rep. Tim Scott will be appointed by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to replace Senator Jim DeMint, who announced his plans to leave public office to head the Heritage Foundation earlier this month.
