A basic question of whether we are better off depending on the govenment to pay for our needs and wants, or are we better off depending on ourselves to pay for our needs and wants? A question of whether our safety is more important that our freedom, or is our freedom more important than our safety?

How do you figure that this Government provides safety .. Our borders are not protected and the illegals that are here get more consideration than us citizens .. We are the ones that have to obey the laws, but between the illegals and the politicians, we are not only Not safe, we are losing our Freedoms and our Country .. If "We the People" don't vote this corrupt Government out of existance in November, we only have ourselves to blame ..GOD Bless America ..

But when does government bring safety? Think of the 'divine right of kings', Mussilino, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Nero, Saddam, etc., etc. Since the progressives have tightened their control on the U.S., since FDR, we have not won a war, we have lost control of our borders, control of our streets in many places, the public debt is at obscene levels, cities and states face bankruptcy, almost half of our households are in a state of dependency (on money borrowed from China), the womb has transitioned from nurture to destruction, half our children are fatherless, etc. The only thing that has done well is the government sector.

To ask the question is to know the answer.

President Obama is betting his re-election chances on convincing enough people that Americans are not taxed enough.  His designated villain is millionaires - a class that virtually everybody would like to be in.

On the week that we all have the IRS and taxes on our mind, however, it is instructive to look at the bigger picture.  The Tax Foundation and the Republican Study Committee offer us the following graph that shows Americans spend more on government at the federal, state, and local level that to provide the essentials of food, shelter and clothing.  Yikes!
