CPAC isn't an organ of the Republican party, Mr. Goldberg, it is a conservative organization. As such, it should only invite conservatives to speak. Using your logic, Christians should invite atheists to speak in church---to give their reasoning as to why they believe as they do. This piece is exactly what is wrong with the Republican Party today---it has tried to be so inclusive it is hard to differentiate it from the Democrat Party.

Dag, Really? How old are you---8? I'll bet I'm not far off, am I? Calling people names (and inaccurate ones at that---do you know to what Teabagger refers? Hint: a s_x act, not a political faction) may be effective in third grade---not so much later. When you become an adult, you will see that it only makes you look silly and doesn't further the debate. Come back in, say, 13 years when you have matured, then you will be prepared to converse with the other adults.

I am not a gun "addict". But, I am a strong proponent of guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. Please ask yourself why the government solution is a solution that we already know doesn't work? Because an armed citizenry is not easily overrun. Besides, if outlawing guns would stop crime, why not just outlaw crime? Oh, that's right, crimes are by definition those things against the law. Criminals don't follow the law----that is why they are criminals. Ergo, taking guns from law abiding citizens will only embolden criminals by making citizens easier targets.

Flaming, Can you possibly not know that the "spending cuts" proposed are really just cuts to the projected growth of spending, not to the spending itself? There are NO spending cuts proposed by the Democrats----all cuts are to the projected growth. Consequently, in most cases, we spend more on programs---maybe less than Congress had proposed, but more than the year before. No matter how much money one makes (or revenue one steals from the people as is the case here) one will still be in a hole if one spends more than that. Now do you understand? We DO have a spending problem, NOT a revenue problem.

Please provide the names as I do not recall any Republicans voting for Obamacare. I believe it passed through reconciliation, not requiring 60 votes.

It isn't Christian conservatives insisting on unelectable candidates----Reagan was the last one put on the ticket. No other Republican candidate since has been conservative. So, maybe we should try our candidates. They seem to actually get elected at the head of the ticket. Also, if you cannot see that the Democrats and elite Republicans are trying to silence Christians, you are blind. If you are not cautious with ANY Muslim of any stripe, you have not looked at their sacred texts. If a Muslim actually practices his/her faith, it is a threat to non-Muslims everywhere. Don't believe me, read what actual Muslims say.
