The correct answer to the issue of homosexual "marriage" is this: The term "marriage" is full of spiritual overtones, and is therefore not a suitable term for the Federal government to use. Remove it from the Federal lexicon, and require the government to stop calling any such union, between anyone and anyone else, a "marriage". With regard to abortion, it is symptomatic of two other problems: (a) The nation no longer believes in, and refuses to accept, any responsibility regarding sexual behavior of any kind. (b) The nation has now decided that human beings have the right to determine which of the products of human conception are human, and which are not, and when. That "right" is very useful, as mass murderers throughout history

Has the nation gone irreversibly blue? Did intraparty disunity sabotage Mitt Romney's presidential quest? Or is there some other explanation for the nation's re-election of a president with the worst record in decades?


I received an email from a brilliant conservative friend who wonders whether Republicans can ever win another election and thus whether the nation is forever lost. I ran into a college student at church the Sunday before the election, and despite his strong conservatism and high intelligence, he admitted confusion about the candidates' respective positions after the presidential debates.
