5 Problems With America That Have Given A Mediocrity Like Obama A Chance To Be Reelected

So as you go to the polls this year, and you cast your vote for the President, perhaps you need to consider how in the coming years you will focus more serious attention on what your Congressperson is doing, or not, and what that institution is doing, or not. To sum up: A good Congress can control the worst President, but the best President can't correct the failures of a bad Congress. We've endured bad Congresses for decades (going back to the 1960s, or farther); it's past time for us to zero in on that institution and insist that it resume its duties.

You are unnecessarily concerned about Congress. I believe virtually every conservative will do what I will do when they go into the voting booth-vote straight Republican. They probably wouldn't do that in every election, but they will this time because they know President Romney needs as much help changing course as possible. The worries that gave Obama a Republican House in 2010 and a push toward Republicans in the Senate have not disappeared.

It Ppears to me that the Senate is the immediate problem. he House has done its job by sending the Senate a budget every year, but Harry Reid has tabled it and no vote was ever taken in the Senate. That by no means absolves Congress of its responsibility to police itself and get rid of the dead weight.m Congress should NOT be paid a salary --they were intended to be citizen legislators who do the workmofmthe country and then go back home to their constituents. Now they jet around the world, live the high life and rarely set foot at home unless it is an election year and they get a pension and health care for life,

I've always said, give them 90 days to do our business, that's about all they "work" anyway... room, board and's supposed to be SERVICE to the nation not a way of life and when they are described as "the political CLASS" you know the system is broken..

Some form of strict term limits.

We have term limits in the form of elections...The trouble is we have an ignorant, greedy electorate who we allow to vote themselves evermore largesse from the public treasury..I have to agree with you, if that can't be stopped, then do not allow these corrupt SOB's more than a few years to enrich themselves at our expense. No-one should be allowed to vote if they are on the dole..the framers had it right, only property owners, people with skin in the game should be voting.

I agree nomad..we have too many capons in this congress..the 0 should have been smacked down and impeached long ago...2 billion to Brazil, the theft of 716 billion and passing this obamacare BS behind closed doors is akin to a dictatorship..I guess PC trumps all, that and the threat of riots.

"Look at the string of broken promises. If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. Try telling that to the 20 million people who are projected to lose their health insurance if Obamacare goes through or the 7.4 million seniors who are going to lose it.

Or remember when he said this: I guarantee if you make less than $250,000, your taxes won’t go up. Of the 21 tax increases in Obamacare, 12 of them hit the middle class.

Or remember when he said health insurance premiums will go down $2,500 per family, per year?...
