Why? So criminals can have it even easier then they do now?

Not a chance. You've just proven yourself to be a fool(again). Ask yourself this: When Defense Spending is 20% of the Federal Budget and Entitlements are 63% of the Federal Budget, why would you cut only from Defense, especially in light of the fact that Defense is Constitutionally mandated, but the Welfare State is not?

Profoundly irresponsible?  Of course.  Politically insane?  Not really.  I'll expound on the second point in a moment, but first, let's survey the brazen talk from Team Blue -- with massive, recession-inducing tax hikes hanging in the balance.  Our new friend Patty Murray is at the front of the line:
