I take it you are not a high tech worker having to compete against these guest workers. You might feel otherwise if you were. If Hatch's efforts shut down the flow of unskilled workers in exchange for more skilled workers then perhaps you would have a point. It of course doesn't. Instead we get more of every kind of worker flowing into our country -- more skilled, a lot more unskilled, chain migration, more illegal immigration -- basically a tsunami of people and workers in a climate of stagnant job growth and depressed wages. Is this what our country needs?

This was not unexpected, of course, but for those unfamiliar with the legislation, here are the nuts and bolts of the committee-approved bill:

The Senate Judiciary Committee gave final approval Tuesday to a sweeping immigration reform bill, setting up a debate on the Senate floor for early June.
