If the jews don't want Hagel, he is the right man for the job. It is long overdue to rid ourselves of the influence that AIPAC has on American foreign policy.

You mean just the same as FDR did? IF much of FDR's cabinet had not been so completely ANTI-Semite, well who knows, there just may not have been 6 million Jews slaughtered by yet another despotic dictator who TOO was a narcissistic sociopath.......namely, obama's hero, Adolf Hitler.

Hey nimh2........so are you just another RECKLESS and LOUSY ANTI-SEMITE?

Hagel as Der-Sec would not be setting the policies at all, the President does that and it's the job of the full Congress to Block-Stop either of them if they were to do something that they, you, I, the people disagree with.

The Def-Sec has some power in advising the President, advice, discussions, the Def Sec does not decide the resulting final decisions on policies to be implimented, the President does.

If the Def Sec does something on his own and the President approves of it but the Congress doesn't, they have ways to Stop-Block it !

You do know, sider, that it WAS FDR's cabinet that took the vote to STOP any Jews from entering the United States when they were fleeing Hitler......specifically in the years 1933/34. FDR was absolutely silent on that vote!

I'd like to get rid o all entities that influence American policy. Lets start with the UN

After C-H's confirmed he should be watched closely to keep him within the normal process of the job and to allay the concerns of the Senators who have been ?-ing his integrity and qualifications for the job.

So, why do I care if it is C-Hagel who is confirmed ?

Because "hopefully" he's,

pro-Massively-Build-up-Defend-US-American-home-based-military-defense-conventional-nuclear-high-tech-security-surveilance-US-missile-EMP-defense-shield,

pro-Thorough-Advanced-High-Tech-Worldwide-Military-Related-Defense-Security-Surveilance,

Anti-moronicly-stupid-disasterous-fiasco-Corrupt-Criminal-US-Bankrupting-Destroying-ME-military-intervention-War-Mongering !

C-Hagel in general will be alot better than Obama's full-Democrat-version of a Def-Sec !

Hagel like Panetta before him and Hillary,Holder and anyone else in this administration will just be a tool for Hussein. Hagel however will be used as an example because he was a Republican and they will pound that in ad nauseam. Of course the Repubs should fight everything this dictator does until the day he is forced out of office.

Maybe not,

He has a hard-fought-tough-military-record so it's unlikely that he will simply be like the usual non-military-service-types,

Lib-Dem-RINO-toold for Obama that you're referring too !
americathebeautiful Wrote: Feb 15, 2013 8:00 AM
Hey sider, Hagel is clearly the biggest of RINO's in the entire Senate.

The ONLY way that he would get elected to anything in Nebraska is to FEIGN being a Republican. He is NO Republican even in name only.

He IS a flaming "paid for by crony capitalists" liberal/progressive IN SPADES!

What about his 2-years-hard-fought-military-combat-service-record-background,

He worked his way up to Seargent and got alot of high-honors-military-combat-related-medals !

And who do you suppose will be the better Def Sec that Obama will give us if Hagel isn't confirmed, when they will be serving under Obama's policies, orders anyway !

Obama has his reasons for wanting Hagel,

That doesn't mean that he's not his own man, he might very well show his best side at times while in this job, when he can get away with it.

Obama would get credit if Hagel does something commendandable but so would Republicans !

That would be a great start, get the HELL out of the UN. Cost too much, and they want to dictate our gun policies, thanks to the support of HIllary. What a joke, Hillary and the UN both.

Senate Republicans have at least temporarily blocked the confirmation of former Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next Secretary of Defense.  Democrats' cloture motion to proceed to an up-or-down vote failed 58-40, with one Senator voting "present."  Achieving cloture requires 60 votes.  Let's be candid: Hagel (a Republican) is unqualified for this job, which is arguably the most important position in a presidential cabinet.  He all but admitted as much during his disastrous Senate hearings last month:
