Bad Rules

You might, like some, think that using text-speak - no punctuation, no uppercase letters etc. - in a debate forum is modern, up-to-date, cool, whatever the current lingo is, but most people call it what it is, ignorant and illiterate. In case your school, like so many, was staffed by teachers who were themselves illiterate, allow me to explain some basic rules to use when trying not to look like an ignorant buffoon: Use upper case (capitals) for the first letter of the first word in a sentence and also for proper nouns like Amendment. (If you don't know what a proper noun is, look it up.) It's not hard; just depress the SHIFT key. Use commas, periods and other basic punctuations. A literate post will have much more credibility.
People have been slaughtering each other throughout history for worshiping the "wrong" god, or worshiping the "right" god in the wrong way; for much of the 20th century Protestants and Catholics did in Northern Ireland, Sunnis, Baathists and other Muslims did and continue to do in the Middle East, and Christian Serbs committed the biggest post WWII slaughter against Muslims in the old Yugoslavia. Atheism was not the CAUSE or self-justification for the killings in the 20th century, despite how many times people like Ransom pretend it was, whereas religion has been the cause and justification for slaughter since biblical times. Christopher Hitchens summed it up wonderfully in his great book "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything."
Ransom repeats the tired old nonsequitur that most of the killing in the 20th century was caused by people with no religious faith (although one might argue that Hitler was raised Catholic and called himself Catholic all his life, the Japanese followed Shinto from Hirohito to the lowliest private soldier, and the biggest mass-murderer of all, Mao, almost certainly followed one of the Chinese religions like Buddhism) so atheism was the cause of the slaughter. It might be accurate if armies marched into battle headed by a flag proclaiming IN THE NAME OF NO KNOWN GOD, the same way the Christian symbol was carried by the Crusaders, Inquisition and Conquistadors, and the Star and Crescent by Muslim hoards.

I guess what you're trying to say is The Renaissance was one of those warm periods, and not even Venice, Italy was flooded. Please be clearer in future.

I don't know about Al Gore Sr. being the devil. What is true is that he was one of the many Democrats who voted against the 1964 Civil Rights and 1965 Voting Rights Acts, both of which only passed into law because the majority of Republicans voting for them outnumbered the Dems like Gore Sr., Robert "KKK" Byrd and others. (And 96% of Black Americans will still pull the Dem lever in November with all the consideration for the economy, foreign affairs and the Dems' history of discrimination and racism, as a pensioner pulling the lever of a slot machine in Atlantic city.)
