The events in Sodom were written about in Genesis. Genesis was written around the 6th to 5th century BC -- several centuries before the birth of Jesus. It wasn't until several centuries AFTER Jesus that the story was changed to being that the primary sin of Sodom was Homosexuality. 16th, 17th and 18th century commentaries are over TWENTY CENTURIES AFTER THE EVENTS! Jewish teachers were not teaching that Sodom's sin was homosexuality through the first several centuries after Jesus died. Wouldn't they have more of a direct knowledge of the events?
