Neat column and helpful information. You leave out one of the most important things the Brits and we can rectify. The minimum wage is a disaster and should be reduced to zero by cutting it by $1.50 per year. That would allow folks to get jobs and employers tolpay closer to what workers are worth.

Pretty good but you are off base on the school paragraph. The school problem is too much money. We keep throwing more dollars and getting lesser results. Fire 3 of every 4 administrators, teach reading, writing, and artihmetic and suspend all the crap courses and you will have positive financial and educational results.

Only the 'rich' could go to college in the early days? Coming out of the depression and the WAR we were poor! My brother and I both went to the university. We worked, we were frugal, we studied. Tuition was $60.00 a semester. Books were a burden but not impossible. The Federal Government and the elite, liberal professors have colluded to make tuition and books much more expensive. Vast numbers of useless administrators have been employed and have added little to the college experience. Beneficiaries of all this nonsense: tenured profs and administrators who are heavily overpaid and work fewer and fewer hours. Folks like dbrown do not have a clue!!!
