Colt, classic liberalism is no where near what the left espouses today. Socialists and Marxists are about as liberal as Attila and every bit as blodthirsty.

I do have to agree that most of what they did was correct. I do however take exception to your characterization of the Washington Naval Disarmament Conference of 1921–1922 as a success. All it did was restrict US naval development, while our allies and future adversaries promptly dismissed its limitations. While the US sent the completed hull of the North Carolina, which would have been the most powerful warship produced by any nation, to the scrap yard every other nation that signed this treaty pulled every trick in the book to bend, stretch and flat out ignore the agreed upon limits.

Ozzy, the so-called free market had nothing to do with the condition of our health care delivery system. Government over-regulation and uunrestricted litigation created the vast majority of problems.

And there's the rub, because many "primetime" network shows now have content that I do not feel MY child should be exposed to. The majority of the time the televisions in my house are tuned to DIY channels, news channels or history channels and that's the way it will stay.
With the exception of your first statement you are right one the money. The EPA was created by a Democrat Congress during the Nixon Administration. FDR took us off of the Gold Standard in the early 30s.
The MSM thought that one up and, orginally the Republican leaning states were blue. Then the Dems complained. It seems that they were afraid that with their socialist agenda people would see them for what they really are. I think it was just prior to the Presidential election cycle in '79.
