Is Middle East Peace a Mirage?

“Radical Islam…spring will never arrive as long as it holds sway over the minds and hearts of the people.” Yet the “Free World” continues to send money…more money to “Radical Islamists” under the assumption and disguise, that it is helping the everyday people. It only continues to prolong the sway…if the money stops the people will be forced to decide what is best for them and the sway will eventually give way to free choice by the people.

The choice they make will not come easily and it will be a long brutal and bloody struggle. Anyone (myself included), civilian or military that has experienced WAR can tell you that on a theoretical level most wars are, in fact, unnecessary. Hindsight can generally find long-lost moments of opportunity that could have been a catalyst to avoid conflict. But some conflicts become inevitable – and that is very different and currently this is where they find themselves at this point in History.

The question is not “IF” it’s going to happen, but WHEN and under what circumstances. The only thing the “Free World” can do is prepare for it; making sure it does not bleed over into another “World Conflict”.

With the truce in the week-long Gaza war, Barack Obama is being prompted by right and left to re-engage and renew U.S. efforts to solve the core question of Middle East peace.

Before he gets reinvolved in peacemaking, our once-burned president should ask himself some hard questions.

Is real peace between Palestinians and Israelis even possible?

Is there any treaty that could be agreed to, or imposed, that would be acceptable to Israel and the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank, let alone to Hamas, which has emerged from its defiance of one of the most intensive bombardments of modern time...
