The "distribution" doesn't just "become heavily lopsided." It is caused by something or somethings. One of those things is the unwillingness of many to provide for themselves, believing that by their very existence they are entitled to have others provide for them. Another is that while we are all equal in the eyes of God, some are born with, or otherwise develop, skills that others do not have. The fact that some have more does not mean that it was taken from the hands of those who have less. One can simply observe that people (and not just Americans) have a much higher standard of living than those of just a generation or two ago, including those who live by the (confiscated) wealth given to them by government.

Liberal academics have been using speech codes for years. They hear an idea they don't like and it makes them angry. But they don't quite know how to defeat the idea on its own merits. So instead of either a) taking the time to cool down and offer a rational response, or b) actually changing their view, they simply give in to the impulse to censor. That is why our campus speech codes really don't reduce so-called hate speech. They simply embolden those who hate speech.

I wish I could say that this childish inclination toward censorship is unique to liberal...
