I have no doubt that Christie could run a strong presidential campaign in 2016. However, he is not as conservative as GOPAC wants him to be, and they are probably right in not inviting him-- if principles make any difference. However, Christie is about as conservative a governor as NJ would ever elect. We have to keep in mind that these are state positions. If Christie were as conservative as GOPAC he would never have been elected governor.
The popular annual Conservative Political Action Conference, held in the Washington, D.C. area every year and the largest annual gathering of conservatives, has so far not extended an invitation to popular Republican Governor Chris Christie this year.

ABC News reports:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is “not being invited” to CPAC, according to a source close to the event who was not authorized to speak publicly. The source would not answer why Christie, who is widely thought to be interested in the 2016 presidential race, would not be invited to the confab of conservative activists.
