No, Weed Isn't "Harmless"

And herein is the battle for freedom over authoritarianism: the statists who believe that all should act according to their whims or else face the penalties of the State. There is no "Republican vs. Democrat", only "libertarian" vs. "authoritarian".

Or maybe the issue is more along the lines of people who recognize that our society has shifted too far to the moocher / dependent lifestyle to justify the addition of more detrimental substances versus childish anarchists who feel the need to feed their addictions?

This is the argument of many on the Left: since we subsidize x, y and z, then we need to regulate you more because of how much x, y and z is costing. You continue to prove my point: liberty vs. tyranny.
Anominus Wrote: Nov 28, 2012 6:33 PM
I'm not in favor of either subsidization or regulation, but if we already have subsidization and I have to pay for it, then I don't mind regulation if it limits the amount I have to pay. Oh noes! Common sense strikes again!

EXACTLY MY POINT!!! You, and your kind, are the danger to freedom. Not Muslims, not the Chinese; YOU!! You readily target your neighbors for State control, in order to reduce your socialized burden, never realizing that it is only increasing your burden.
Anominus Wrote: Nov 28, 2012 6:44 PM
So because we prefer to not have to pay for more potheaded moochers in light of the increasing welfare state, we are a bigger threat than moslems and communists? You should lay off the pot... Obviously, it effects your ability to think clearly.

No, because you promote the deprivation of liberty of others.
Anominus Wrote: Nov 28, 2012 6:56 PM
If your "liberty" to "get high" comes at my expense, then you don't deserve to keep that "liberty."

You continue to exemplify Hayek's Road to Serfdom. In an ever socialized state, the citizens themselves will hand over their liberty to reduce their financial burden. Soon you will be arguing "If your "liberty" to "eat fatty foods" comes at my expense, then you don't deserve to keep that "liberty". If your "liberty" to "own a gun" comes at my expense, then you don't deserve to keep that "liberty". If your "liberty" to "drive a car" comes at my expense, then you don't deserve to keep that "liberty". Ad nauseum.

You should lay off the booze too but somehow that is allowed to be legal. Why? Maybe the failure of Prohibition? Marijuana is the same way. Failure of the Drug War to stop the import into and use in the USA. Some people are doomed to repeat history. Oh, the USA seemed to somehow do fine all the way up into the last century using the stuff. Our founding fathers used it quite frequently.

The answer is to first reduce the welfare state, then we can consider legalization again. Honestly, I don't care what you idiots do to yourselves - with any luck the drugs you injest will make you impotent and incapable of making it to the voting station - but right now is not the time for it. I know that must be a difficult concept for you - what could possibly be more important than getting high? - but most people are not going to consider it as a priority.

Our friend Steven Crowder recently took a trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan to expose a common lie about Marijuana use: it's not harmful. It turns out, Marijuana isn't "just a plant" that does less damage than alcohol. According to a doctor Crowder interviewed in the video below, Marijuana actually lingers in your brain and when smoked at a young age, prevents maturity from taking place (imagine that!).

As Crowder pointed out in the video, there are many cases to be made on both sides of the Marijuana legalization...
