Condoleeza Rice would be a really stupid pick for VP for a variety of reasons, this being the most salient. The only salient benefit she brings is the diversity card, which isn't a winning issue for Republicans. She has foreign policy experience, sure, but that makes her a good candidate for Secretary of State, not Vice President. This idea is one of those ideas that sounds really good when you've been locked in a DC office in the wee hours of the morning desperate for something unexpected to spice up the campaign, but just isn't really that good when you really think hard about the fact that you have so many better options. There is a lot of GOP talent to pick up that are a lot safer and secure key swing states before you get to Rice.
