Does that mean that India, Indonesia and China have no gun deaths at all since they have less then 5 guns per 100 people? Oh, that is right, they have bombs go off in train stations. How can that be, only guns kill people, not people kill people. So much for that failed argument!

Tax Rich Liberals

Don't forget that Buffett moved all his extra money to the "foundation" before he started his wailing about how the rich do not pay their share. The Government will not get his money. He made sure that him and his kids were taken care of long before blessing more taxes. Also, he is still fighting the IRS over a sizable tax bill that amounts to "pocket change" for Berkshire Hathaway.

I think it needs to be a percent for a percent. If they want to raise taxes by 5% the a across the board cut of ALL government budgets by 5%. It should be the 2008 budget levels that they cut from.

I cannot believe how ADD this country has become. I think we need to have a national meditation period everyday, so the country can learn to focus on one thing for more then 5 seconds. No matter how long the message is repeated over and over, if the message stops for a few minutes it is like there never was a message. The situation is still the same for the next two years. The republican party did the same thing it has done for the past 12 years and yet expected a different outcome....React to the Democrat's talking points. Didn't work then, didn't work now. We have four years to come up with a message we can all get behind and never waiver from, no matter what the Dems throw out there. How about a smaller constitutional government.
I agree that no 'one' person can fix this situation alone, but they can lead the people that can. Do not forget the trillions of dollars siting around waiting for someone to lead and provide a stable future so they can spend those dollars. It happens that those dollars are sitting in the biggest consumer country on the globe. A increase in spending here will raise the tide for all countries and get the global economy humming again.
It really does not matter who they sell it to for two reasons: 1. Oil is a global market and is priced as so. 2. The royalties that go to the state would probably cover the states budget for many, many years.
If Planned Parenthood (oxymoron - if it was planned, there would not be a need for abortion) truly was using tax dollars for women's health issues, they would set up a separate organization for that purpose and keep it separate from the abortion clinics. They do not because tax dollars are what pay for the abortion clinics. If the Pro-Choice folks are so supportive of Planned Parenthood, why don't they donate to the abortion organization so that tax dollars are not needed? Stop the lies and pay up if you support them. Keep you hand out of my pocket.
